You've adopted part of a highway?!? How onerous is that? Are you out there more often than once or twice a year? Do you get cool reflective vests from the county?
In addition to getting reflective vests, I'm also supplied with fluorescent orange garbage bags. I only need to clean up the highway once or twice a year. Aside from the area around a convenience store, the volume of trash isn't too bad. It's great exercise in a gorgeous setting, and thankfully, I haven't found anything too disgusting yet!
Exciting! My school "adopted" a section of local trail and in the early days we used to find some pretty sexy stuff. These days, we mostly just walk around for a few miles and the kids argue over who gets to put the one plastic bottle we find into their (non-orange, non-fluorescent) trash bags - we're just too efficient!
Nice! My first clean-up was busy since the stretch of highway had been neglected for a while. I wish I didn't find so many beer cans and liquor bottles.
Regarding the topic, I'm intrigued by the mechnics of Substack's visibility boost once the four-figure subscriber mark is hit for organic growth.
Me too. I've heard 1,000 subscribers is an important milestone to cross, but I guess the algorithm knows all.
